LOST IN NORTH

HAVE YOU EXPLORED EPIC LANDSCAPES OF SCOTLAND?

Hello. My name is Philip Solovjov, I am a landscape photographer living in Edinburgh, Scotland. For the past 5 years I have travelled across Scotland and have fallen in love with its breathtaking scenery.  I have come up with the idea of LOST IN NORTH landscape photography workshop-tours to take you to some of the most epic locations across Scotland.

While getting lost in great outdoors and experiencing mind-blowing landscapes Scotland has to offer, you will expand your knowledge and improve practical skills on landscape photography and learn how to create outstanding photographs of your own unforgettable travel experiences. Our small groups of maximum 4 people allow plenty of one-to-one tuition time and are great for both beginners and more advanced photography enthusiasts.

I invite you to be a part of this wonderful adventure of discovering the beauty of Scottish landscapes and learning the secrets of Landscape Photography. Let's go!

GLENCOE WORKSHOP

This one day workshop will concentrate on the Glencoe region of Scotland, which is one of the most impressive locations in Scotland for landscape photography. We will explore some of the most amazing locations Glencoe has to offer and try to get off the beaten track to see locations not visited by the crowds of tourists. If you choose a 2 or 3 day workshop, we will also explore castle Stalker and Kilchurn.

WHAT YOU NEED TO TAKE

ESSENTIAL:

  • Camera (ability to shoot in MANUAL mode is highly desireable).
  • Tripod.
  • Warm clothes and waterproof jacket/trousers, comfortable waterproof boots.
  • Waterproof backpack/bag for equipment.

Please keep in mind that weather in Scotland usually changes very fast and can be rather unpredictable, so be ready for rain even if the forecast looks good. Very often it is windy and it can feel very cold spending most of the day outdoors. Bearing that in mind please wear warm and comfortable clothing and have your waterproofs ready.  It is also very important to protect your gear, so please check that your backpack or camera bag has waterproof cover. Remember that there is no bad weather - only bad preparation.

OPTIONAL:

  • Graduated Neutral density filters and Neutral density filters.
  • Shutter release cable (useful for long exposures).
  • Spare batteries and memory cards.
  • Laptop.

TESTIMONIALS

"LOST IN NORTH workshop in Scotrland with Philip was one of the best experiences I could ask for - his knowledge of technical aspects of landscape photography, sense of composition and friendly personality are a perfect guidance one could wish for.

Despite being an editorial photographer, during the workshop I trained my eye to get better at spotting perfect background to place a subject in. Whether you are a landscape photographer or not - this is a perfect opportunity to get a lot of inspiration from the process itself, lots of fresh air in your lungs, and most importantly - approach a landscape photography in your own way.

Let Philip take you to places you would never find by yourself and be ready to take the magnificent beauty of nature home with you!"

Kristine Krauze-Slucka, Editorial photographer, Latvia
